  Brief Bio

Lisa Perales has been an educator for over twenty years, working with students with special and diverse needs.  She graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in Elementary Education and certification in Special Education.  Perales received her M.A. [graduating Magna Cum Laud ] in Special Education with an endorsement in the area of severe and profound disabilities.  She holds the positions of Director of Special Education at the "Behavior Research Institute" & Executive Director of Staff Development at "Educating Diverse Learners". ™    EDL is currently "Special Education" oversight consultant and advisor  to upwards of 100 public school districts and more than 300 individual campuses throughout Texas and the Southwest United States including Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri and Kansas. 

Ms Perales is an adjunct professor of Early Childhood Development at  Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.  She is considered one of the countries top authorities pertaining to mentally impacted children at infancy through early childhood development and is continually asked to give her counsel in a "publishing" capacity as well as through multiple seminars, online courses , and multi-state presentations.  As well as being Chief Operating Officer of Educating Diverse Learners, Perales is a sought after representative for other internationally renowned instructional training organizations such as the Bureau of Education and Research .  Perales has written extensively on the difficult topic of Autism for the international research organization  "High Scope" and numerous other venues such as ATPE [Association of Texas Professional Educators].  Perales is also one of the creators of "Visually Speaking" a new clinically proven learning/education methodology specifically designed for severely impacted children.
