Electromagnetic Brain Animation? Cannot really go over it too
many times.
Electromagnetic brain animation
[EBA] is a technique for gently stimulating the brain. It utilizes
one or more custom built electromagnets placed above and/or around the patient’s scalp.
These electromagnets
generates short magnetic pulses, roughly the strength of an MRI
scanner’s magnetic field but much more focused. The magnetic pulses only pass
easily through the skull when combined with an initiation of low frequency
ultrasound. This is possibly the primary difference in workability
between EBA and TMS. These power and pulse radiations are short pulses and not a static field;
thus, they can stimulate the
underlying cerebral cortex (brain). Low frequency (once per second) EBA
has been shown to induce reductions in brain activation while stimulation at
higher frequencies (> 5 pulses per second) has been shown to increase brain
activation. It has also been shown that these changes can last for periods
of time after stimulation is stopped. Tests have also shown it it
probable to sustain positive cerebral changes by continued maintained
treatment of at least one session per week for sex weeks at a time.
What disorders has EBA
been shown to be useful for?
For a sustained period of time
continuing for several years EBA has been
investigated clinically as a potential treatment for patients with major depression,
attention deficit disorder, overanxious disorder, learning disorder, and
pervasive developmental deficiencies including patients who experience hallucinated "voices" and a variety of other
psychiatric and neurological disorders. Over 60 human patients have been studied
with EBA treatment in conjunction with multiple research and
investigation previous to that time on animal subjects [mice]. Throughout the
complete spectrum of mental difficulties the preponderance of all studies have shown
quantifiable improvement following EBA generation beyond an
eight week timetable. Recent revised investigations that have used
even newer technology and stronger stimulation have shown much improved
results. This advanced form of EBA relates to the adding
of ultrasound as both an electromagnetic impulse guide path and an additional combination
of overall therapy resulting in a more dynamic interaction and redirection
of 'abnormal' cellular structure.
